Job requirements

An International Financial Management Organisation Based in Manchester is seeking an experienced Scrum Master / Technical Delivery Manager to join their API Engineering Group on a full time basis.

The role requirements include

  • To lead multiple teams in delivery of hardware and software releases for various API Products across end-to-end development life-cycles through internal and 3rd party resources
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with clients and project managers the ensure the delivery of projects within timescales and on budget

Your responsibilities

Relationship Building
  • Engage and manage effective relationships across the business
  • Liaise with project / product managers, keeping them up to date on release targets, milestones, risks and issues
  • Develop relations with technical teams to ensure they have the right tools and support to deliver within timescales without compromising on quality
  • Promote your position within the organisation as the point of contact for all API releases and act as a role model for delivery
Release Management
  • Plan, coordinate and mentor all activies related to design, development, testing and deployment for an agile development team
  • Responsible for scoping, planning, budgeting and forecasting releases
  • Ensure Project and Product Managers have the right resources needed to deliver their products effectively
  • Ensure all Governanace, Risk, Procedures and Compliance policies are adhered to
  • Work closely with lead engineers to deliver technical strategies for applications
Delivery and Supply Management
  • Manage all resources - Designers, Developers, Testers e.t.c: Utilise all resources available to the organisation including 3rd Party Suppliers
  • Ensure the suppliers have the ability to deliver to the high standards in place. Ability to recommend appropriate solutions to stakeholders based on outcome and impact assessments
  • Assist in contract specifications, ensure all works undertaken are to a high quality and technical standards
  • Review supplier deliverables, ensure they are to spec and within the contracted agreements

Transition into Run / Production

  • Work with application support teams to ensure the transition into BAU environments is going smoothly
  • Manage the successful delivery of applications / product releases into the product environment

Team Leadership and Management

  • Lead Application and Product Development Teams, assigning tasks, identifying ways to improve processes
  • Conduct Performance Development tasks with staff, setting objectives and reviewing with individuals
  • Identify development needs of staff
  • Contribute to operational objectives within the organisation
  • Identify own development needs and proactively drive development of your own capability

What we are looking for

  • Background within Project Management and methodologies that may include: RUP, CMMi, Prince2, PMI
  • Software Development Methodologies, e.g. Waterfall, Agile
  • Acknowledgement of leading edge technology and services within IT
  • Maintain and understand up to date technical applications and techniques
  • Experience managing the whole life-cycle
  • Working with 3rd Party Suppliers and technology Stakeholders
  • Experience in managing a team of people, ideally across multiple locations
  • Delivered projects ranging from £500k - £3Mil
  • Backgrund within Financial Services (Ideally)

Qualifications

Formal Qualification in a Project Management e.g. Prince2, PMI etc.
